Notes on tracker costs:

 1) Engineering R&D is included in detector costs. No attempt has
    been made here to separate engineering R&D from preceding R&D.
    Subgroup members should provide any necessary corrections.

 2) "Our estimate" for the SDD electronics costs needs to be
    corrected by subtracting from Rene's total of $13.250M
    everything associated with the FEE (at least $5.5M).

 3) Our estimate for Si Microstrip electronics costs do not
    include DAQ.

 4) Pre-production and installation electronics costs are taken
    from Marty's WBS applet where he assumes for both S and L designs:

      * 17 man-years of electronic engineers @ $126,800
      * 20 man-years of electronic techs @ $65,710
      * $1,100,000 in materials and supplies

    giving a total of $4,569,800.

    Marty also assumes a production cost of $584 / cluster.

 5) This assumes 486,000 channels divided by 256 with 5% spares.

 6) Based on 5-disk design outlineed by Bruce Schumm at October 10, 2000 LCD meeting,
     with scaling of most costs to L detector by number of disks, but with
     electronics (including detectors & hybrids) scaled by silicon area, which gives a
     factor of 4 reduction.
